To begin, turn the front wheels full lock to the right, raise the vehicle and place your drain pan underneath. Then, remove the centre bash plate to access the sump plug. From there, undo the sump plug and drain the oil. Doing this while the engine is still warm will help the oil drain faster.

While the oil drains, remove the rubber inner guard liner on the front left corner of the vehicle to gain access to the oil filter.

Then, remove the oil filter cap and take the old oil filter cartridge out of its housing.

From there, fit the new Ryco Oil Filter cartridge and the supplied o-ring into the oil filter cap and refit the cap to the housing.

Once the oil has finished draining, refit the sump plug with a new washer and reinstall the centre bash plate.

The initial oil fill can then be done using a Ryco Flexi Funnel to prevent any mess. The 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel engine takes about 7.1 litres of oil.

Once filled, start the vehicle and check for any leaks.

To replace the air filter, start by unplugging the MAF sensor and unclipping the coolant reservoir hose from its mounting point.

Then, undo the airbox clips, lift the lid away from the airbox, and remove the old air filter.

Give the airbox a quick clean then fit the new Ryco Air Filter, making sure that the seal is seated correctly within the airbox.

Then, reclip the coolant reservoir hose and plug the MAF sensor back in.

Next, we can look at changing the fuel filter. Start by disconnecting the sensor plug and removing the hoses from the fuel filter housing.

Then, unlock the sliding lock tab located here and lift the fuel filter housing out of the engine bay.

Next, move to a bench and drain any remaining diesel in the filter housing into a container.

From there, undo the bolts on the top of the housing and lift the cap away. Then, attach the handle included with your new Ryco Fuel Filter to the old fuel filter cartridge and pull it out of the housing.

Pour out any remaining diesel, give the housing a good clean, and install your new Ryco Fuel Filter cartridge. Next, install the supplied o-ring to the cap and refit it to the housing.

The housing can then be placed back into its location in the engine bay. Reinstall the fuel hoses and sensor plug then prime the fuel system by switching the ignition to reds to cycle the fuel pump.

Leave the ignition on for 20-30 seconds until you can no longer hear noise from the fuel pump then check for leaks. Repeat the priming process 4-5 times then start the car. If it doesn’t start, you may need to repeat the priming process.

To replace the cabin filter, start by dropping the glovebox down.

Then, remove the filter housing cover and take out the old cabin air filter.

Clear the area of any debris then fit the new Ryco N99 MicroShield Cabin Air Filter with it facing in the correct airflow direction as indicated on the filter.

From there, the filter housing cover and glovebox can be reinstalled in reverse order. The MicroShield is made of N99 medical grade media and can stop viral and bacterial contaminants as well as other minuscule pollutants from making their way inside the vehicle by filtering out particles down to .3 micron.

From there, the vehicle can be road-tested to ensure that everything’s in good working order.
