Amotiv prioritises six Key Impact Areas that inform internal activities, resource allocation, investment, measurement, and reporting on the topics of Health, Safety and Wellbeing; Thriving People; Sustainable Sourcing; Energy and Emissions; Electric Vehicle Transition; and Waste.
Thriving people, and Health, Safety & Wellbeing play a big part in our staff activities and our social calendar. In creating a positive work culture, we also encourage staff to work towards effecting change and creating activations that see us contributing to external communities.
As a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant we actively participate in driving progress through our progressive changes across all facets of the company.
The APCO reporting framework provides a benchmark to measure progress in implementing the sustainable packaging guidelines. Our goal is to continue to maintain and grow our ‘leading’ overall performance rating. This requires a demonstration of tangible progress in improving outcomes in packaging sustainability
Ryco’s flagship 4x4 upgrade packaging are fully recyclable in line with the highest APCO packaging standards. Not only are 100% of the packaging and instruction sheets recyclable, but the component box inserts are themselves made from recycled paper pulp, meaning none of the packaging or house material will end up in landfill. The redesign and optimisation of the first 11 cartons reduced cardboard requirements by >350m3. This has enabled us to fit an additional 24-63% of products per pallet, with tangible reductions to transport needs reducing emissions across the entire supply chain.
In this way, Ryco have embedded Sustainable Packaging Principles into our packaging design practices, in an effort to be more broadly compliant with APCO’s Gold Standard guidelines.
Looking ahead, Ryco is aiming to introduce an oil filter recycling program, introducing better paper and packing recycling programs and practices in all our facilities, and being entirely APCO compliant by 2025.

Amotiv’s Ethical Sourcing Code guides all Amotiv Limited Companies, including Ryco, when selecting suppliers, which is to conduct business that identifies, prevents, and mitigates modern slavery in our own operations and in our supply chains.
Our Ethical Sourcing Program applies both to Amotiv’s own operations and to its suppliers. Through the global expansion of our business, including to countries where the prevalence of modern slavery is higher, we understand the importance of working to reduce the risk of modern slavery. Amotiv’s Ethical Sourcing Program, and our own robust health, safety and wellbeing processes, help us pursue this.
We are committed to continually improving our understanding, management and reporting of modern slavery risks, and we manage our business with an awareness of, and respect for, human rights that will support performance and help us pursue our purpose.
